Xvalue Type Specimen Book

This handmade type specimen book "Travel Book a la Match" is based on my love to travel. Main character of this journal is a match. She tells her story and how the type was created. The font Xvalue is inspired by Futura. Each letter of the alphabet in this font has been created after a building located in Eastern Hemisphere. The names of the buildings are placed in alphabetical order. K for Kremlin, T for Taj Mahal. Letter X didn't have a building so the type was named Xvalue, also stands for unknown. Grid is based on the location of 5 buildings on the map. Why 5? Number 5 is a lucky number for travelers. Also in Buddhism each of five colors symbolizes a state of mind, a celestial buddha, a part of the body, a part of the mantra word Hum, or a natural element (green, red, blue, white, yellow). You can see the difference in thick and thin strokes, and stems... that represents the traveling experience. It's never just good or bad. It's always different.
